FUN FISHING IN BATU ABAH
My Other Hobby
I have several challenging hobbies to help me out of stress . You might want to know what I do for a living, and today I’ll tell you a little bit of my life. I am stocks and commodity trader and now lead a research company, Astronacci International. Sometimes, doing tons of researches and trading make me boring even though I booked profits there :). So, I need another fun activity, Photography, Flying the aircraft, and Fishing. Today, I’ll share you my fishing trip in Batu Abah, Nusa Penida in Dec 2013. That day, I had a special invitation from dr. Edwin Nurwinanta, one of my client and also best friend to join their family in a fishing trip led by Mr Adhek Amerta. He is professional and very familiar with the location. I was so happy, it is my childhood dream to go fish with a fishing yacht and this time I did it! Yeay! This is the location after 1.5 hours cruising…
PHOTO ON THE BOAT
When we have reached the location I took my camera and had some photos of the area. The main problem to take photos on the boat is a seasick issue. We were in the Indian Ocean which has big wave and it made our boat unstable that day. So, I was using 1/100 shutter speed and small aperture to make everything sharp since tripod is no longer useful :). In batu abah, you will see beautiful rocks around the location with dark blue sea. The most interesting part is there is no small fish here.
We were doing a popping and casting fishing to aim the famous Giant Travelly (GT) fish or some Blue or Yellow Fin Tuna with 20-100kg size per fish, Superb!! Anyway, to maintain the ecosystem Mr Adhek has a strict rule, every fish must be released. Nice rule, isn’t it? And…. finally, I got one and it was around 20kg GT, need 15 minutes to lift up the fish. Hope you enjoy my fishing journey! How about to go to fish in the next workshop in Bali (Workshop Belajar Fotografi)? Just let me know…… Have a great sunday.
